Key points
This indicator measures the proportion of secondary school students (aged 12–18 years) reporting that most weeks they spent enough time with their parents. Healthy relationships are built through both the quantity and quality of time spent together. Young people having enough time with their parents is a proxy indicator of the extent to which those in need of care and nurturing receive appropriate support.
- Survey results reveal a decline in the perception of Waikato young people (girls in particular) that they get enough time with at least one parent most of the time.
