The MARCO team (monitoring and reporting community outcomes) has compiled indicators that help tell us about the quality of, and any changes in, life for people in the Waikato region. Learn more about indicators and how they are being used.
About 75 indicators were selected and grouped into five topics. The results are displayed for the Waikato region and, where available, by city/district council area. Find out more about how the indicators were developed. The indicators are up-dated, analysed and reported every year. Find out more in the indicator data analysis reports.

What are indicators and how are they being used?
An indicator is something that helps us to understand where we are, which way we are going and how far we are from where we want to be. Indicators summarise complex information into key measures so that we can understand what's happening. Indicators are used by local authorities in the Waikato region to track progress against stated goals and objectives derived from consultation with the community, referred to as community outcomes.
